The Village Garden Project connects local growers and gardeners to Heaven's Windows so produce can be distributed through a variety of meal programs. Meals are distributed through Heaven's Windows sponsored sites such as low-income apartment complexes, community/teen centers, libraries, and more. Fresh Food Connect

Each year, roughly 1 in 10 people in the US experience food insecurity, yet 40% of food is wasted. At the same time, 1 in 3 US households grow food at home or in community gardens.

Fresh Food Connect's free mobile app connects home gardeners to local hunger relief organizations, and helps coordinate homegrown produce donations. If you grow extra produce in your at-home garden, you can use this app to find the nearest participating drop-off site, log your extra produce, and bring it to one of our designated locations.

Your surplus produce won't go to waste, and folks living in neighborhoods where healthy food can be hard to come by will get to enjoy fresh, locally grown food.

ProduceGood is committed to reducing food waste and hunger while building community by gleaning excess produce from orchards, backyards, farms, Farmers Markets and grocers and delivering it to the food insecure of San Diego County.

Senior Gleaners

Established in 1994, Senior Gleaners provides multiple benefits by harvesting and collecting food otherwise wasted to feed those needing it the most. Providing meaningful activity and social connections for volunteers. Helping residents (many of them seniors unable to care for their trees) harvest surplus crops—mostly citrus. Keeping tons of organic material out of landfills where it generates harmful methane gas.
